This is what Renault think of when
they want to make a new crossover, a car that will find it place between his
rivals with it distinctive propostions, not much ddiferent from the Clio, we
can say it's a Clio with large wheels, higher suspension wide tracks and steely
raked and forward-set windscreen. Renault Captur lends itself perfectly to an
extensive personalisation programme, too.
At its launch today, the Captur is
available with two petrol engines, the TCe 900 cm3 90 bhp and the 1.2 TCe 120
bhp and a 90 bhp 1.5 dCi diesel.
Less efficient than the TCe 120 bhp
in 0-100 km/h ( 13.1 s against 10.9 s), the dCi 90 bhp shows in town higher
torque (220 Nm at 1750 rpm against 190 Nm at 2,000 rpm, and gear ratios
shortcuts to compensate for the weight increase .
Unfortunately, a very long fourth
incentive to play the lever on highways. This is the secret to contain the
lowest consumption : 3.6 liters / 100 km and 95 g / km of CO2 for the dCi 90 (
recorded at 6.5 liters mixed ) against 5.4 liters / 100 km and 125 g / km of
CO2 for the TCe 120 ( recorded at 8.5 liters mixed).
Meanwhile, the in-dash Renault
R-Link multimedia tablet provides access to a whole new level of connectivity,
with an ever-expanding library of dedicated motoring applications.
